Concept
Making wonton is the first time I bonded with my mother to make food.
For this particular project, I will individually find my voice through choosing and buying my own wontons. The traits I will express are: sensitive, petite, dainty, and intuitive introvert. Although introverts and "small" people are perceived as not confident and indecisive people, I will like to prove people wrong that these people can be powerful. The power will be expressed through the flavors of the dumplings.
Thursday 10/05 (Today) Midterm proposal
Friday 10/06 || Ask mom and grandma for the best supermarkets to get the ingredients. Explore supermarkets for particular ingredients.
Saturday & Sunday 10/07-10/08 || Buy ingredients and wrap the "test wontons".
Monday 10/09 || Boil and try the "test wontons" with the three types of broth. Taste Test. Alter any flavors if necessary.
Tuesday 10/10 ||
Wednesday 10/11 ||
Thursday 10/12 || Practice and prepare as if it is the day of the midterm. Think of how to bring it to school. Will it be cold? Will it be warm enough even if I commute for two hours?

Medium
- Circular wonton flour wrapping (Sorry, I do not know how to translate from Cantonese to English accurately and precisely)

- Mushroom
- Soy sauce
- Sesame oil

Timeline
Make a detailed timeline of when you will complete each part of the project. Include gathering materials, construction and a practice run before final presentation in critique.

Thursday 10/19 || MIDTERM DUE
The presentation of the actual project will not have so much ingredients in the broth. To emphasize my small physical trait, there will only be a few wontons in the bowl. |
Presentation
Eating food with friends and family is a fun, learning experience. Instead of having a formal performance/presentation/gallery show, I will open it up as a family/friend gathering to simply enjoy eating. I will also create a conversation with everyone and ask how their day is going. I will share universal stories that every one can relate to break the ice and create more conversations.

Challenges
I will have to ask everyone in the class if they have any food restrictions because I do want everyone to participate and try my wontons.
The challenge is the pairing of the wontons with the broth to create contrasting flavors.
